Description: We explored breast cancer disparities in North Carolina by combining existing data sources, namely the Carolina Mammography Registry and the Integrated Cancer Information and Surveillance System (now CIPHR) For this pilot study, we evaluated if low income women enrolled in a federal breast cancer screening program continued to receive appropriate follow-up once they transitioned out of the program. We also used the combined data to explore additional research questions related to breast cancer disparities across North Carolina.
