Description: This study evaluated the benefits and harms of screening mammography among women aged 66 and older. Aim 1 determined the cumulative risk of screening outcomes, including the benefits and harms, over the course of 5- to 10-years of screening mammography among older women across levels of advancing age, comorbidity and functional status. Aim 2 determined the 5- and 10-year risk of mortality among older women undergoing screening mammography across levels of advancing age, comorbidity and functional status. Aim 3 evaluated comparative effectiveness of screening mammography strategies in older women on long-term outcomes across levels of advancing age, comorbidity and functional status. This study aimed to move the breast imaging field forward by evaluating the benefits and harms of screening mammography in older women across the levels of advancing age, comorbid illness and functional status.
